WALKER EDISON'S DAY OF SERVICE PROVIDES 20,000 MEALS TO RISE AGAINST HUNGER

In October Walker Edison held its company-wide service day and prepared 20,000 meals for Rise Against Hunger.

According to Rise Against Hunger’s data, 20,000 meals provides enough to feed 93 school kids for an entire year.

Rise Against Hunger was created in1998 by Ray Buchanan, a United Methodist minister and is driven by the vision of a world without hunger. Its goal is to end hunger worldwide by 2030 by providing food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable and by creating a global commitment to mobilize the necessary resources.

When meals are provided through Rise Against Hunger, the food is shipped to areas in need all over the world.

“We’re a global business and we like to be involved and give back to our local community as well as the global community,” said Brad Bonham, CEO of Walker Edison. “We do service days once a quarter and get the entire office involved. It’s amazing what a difference you can make in just a few hours. In just over two hours we were able to package 20,000 meals that will be distributed to areas in need around the world. It feels great to be able to give service that will make a difference to so many people."
